Why I chose to be a Social Media Manager
Hey Friends! Have you ever sat down and said I can do a thing or two on social media? Well one day I sat down and said the same. I LOVE Social Media. I was a Journalism major and I started my career in Public Relations handling social media outlets. So I feel like I have an upper hand in the influencing world.
One day I had an epiphany that it was time to retire being a network marketer and to jump into the real world of entrepreneurship. I wanted to be able to be home with my children and still make an income. Not just a few hundred but a DENT. Plus I like nice things haha.
So I decided to jump into social media management. I create content for clients, post, engage their ideal target market, and essentially grow their accounts. Honestly, I enjoy it a lot. Especially when they get a sale haha. So here’s 3 reasons why you should too.
Be The Professional
Although most of us work to get straight to the money, lets put someone else’s needs before our own. You can honestly win over a client just because of your exquisite customer service. When you aim to alleviate their stress it puts the customer at ease! So my number one rule when starting a social media business is to be PROFESSIONAL.
Understand their market
Yes, you know a thing or 2 about social media. However, do you know how to target their market? Most times it’s best to give yourself a target market of clients. This was an issue I ran into when I first started. I wanted to take on any and everyone. I literally managed a realtor, wedding planner, photographer, and life coach. Let’s just say I was burnt out and uninterested in most of the content I was creating. So make sure you figure the community you want to serve daily for your clients.
Know your worth
Guys my first client paid me $75. I’m not sure how I did it back in the day haha. I was just starting out and wanting to see if this is something I really want to do. Thank God she took a chance on me. Now that I’ve managed over a dozen of clients, I’m confident in my ability to create content for anyone. Each client I received I went up in price. Not only because I was undercharging myself but because each client needed something more than the last. Today, I have had clients pay well over $1,000 for my services. It pays to hire someone to handle something you no longer want to do.
